First Response and Advanced Assessment

*Note: This course is one of our more advanced courses designed for experienced volunteers.  However, newer volunteers are also invited to take the course although credit will not be awarded until they have more experience.

Course Description:

• Basics of the Marine Mammal Protection Act, Endangered Species Act and Animal Welfare Act
• Basics of the Incident Command Structure and Chain of Command
• Deployment and Equipment Protocols
• First Response Protocols
• Initial Evaluation of Marine Mammals
• Triage Protocols
• Specific Evaluations (written test)
