Transport Vehicle for Stranded or Rehabilitated Marine Mammals

Truck (white)                                                                                                    Animals must be transported from stranding sites to MMC’s rehabilitation facility (and to release sites) in specially outfitted trucks. The truck must have the  weight bearing capacity to accomodate mammals which can weigh up to 1,600 pounds along with the medical and other personnel who accompany the animal and the required equipment. The truck length should be approximately 26 feet with an approximate gross vehicle weight capacity of 33,000 pounds (conventional chassis that can bear 5,170 pounds in front and 2,970 in the rear).  If you are interested in discussing the donation of a truck to MMC for use as a Marine Mammal Ambulance and Transport Vehicle, please contact Robert Lingenfelser (Telephone: (305)451-4774; e-mail: rgl@marinemammalconservancy.org) or
