Marine Mammal Conservancy Exhibit in Fort Lauderdale Boat Show

The Marine Mammal Conservancy hosted an exhibit at the 2009 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show on October 29 through November 2, 2Boat_Show_Pic_for_website009.   MMC had the opportunity to educate visitors to our booth about our rescue and rehabilitation work with dolphins and whales and our plans to build a permanent rehabilitation, research, and education center.  In addition to displaying a video and pictures of past rescue operations, MMC volunteers distributed educational information, including our informational brochure and the “Dolphin-Friendly Fishing & Viewing Tips” educational piece generously donated by Mote Marine.  We also gave children a fun and informative piece on dolphins and whales, “Fun Facts about Dolphins and Whales”, and coloring pages to take home with them.  Of course, since it was Halloween weekend, we kept a healthy supply of candy on hand for our visitors.

MMC is grateful to Show Management, Inc. for its generosity in donating a booth to Marine Mammal Conservancy, Inc. and supporting our work with dolphins and whales.  Our heartfelt thanks also go out to all of the wonderful people and organizations who offered their support and will be joining our all volunteer efforts to save marine mammals in distress and the oceans they inhabit.  Stay tuned to learn more about our new partners.

Last, but not least, thank you to our extraordinary volunteers who give selflessly of their time and talents.
