MMC to Participate in the Second Annual “Ocean Kids” Event at the University of Miami

MMC  joins the University of Miami in its Second Annual “Ocean Kids” event for underprivileged elementary school children on November 14, 2009, to teach them about the wonders of our oceans through hands-on lessons and experiences.  MMC staff will teach the children about dolphins and whales.  The  children will also participate in a “mock stranding” and learn how to properly approach, handle, and transport stranded marine mammals and the laws that govern rescue activities.  Through these interactive lessons, the students will learn how to protect the oceans and gain a greater understanding of how to be better stewards of our oceans and the creatures that live in it.
